Do you need help with:

As your counsellor and therapist I do my best to make you feel heard, listened and comfortable to speak about what has brought you to counselling.
Therapy helps you explore the historical, cultural, family, psychosocial and psychosexual factors that have led you to form certain patterns of behaviours and views of yourself. These patterns may have helped to serve you at a certain time in your life but this may not be the case any longer.
As well as talking in the counselling sessions, I leave it open to you to speak about your dreams, bring in any art work, pieces of literature or other materials that you want to in the sessions.
When a client tells me that they are anxious or depressed I don't claim to know what it means and that I know best. I work with you to unpack what this means to you. Together we explore how the current problem has been shaped by your unconscious mental life.
“Trauma is the invisible force that shapes our lives. It shapes the way we live, the way we love and the way we make sense of the world. It is at the deepest root of our deepest wounds. Unaddressed trauma keeps perpetuating painful patterns in our lives.”
— Gabor Mate
I am a licensed couples counsellor, working with couples navigating relationship difficulties, emotional disconnection and the pressures that modern life, family and culture can place on a relationship.
My experiences include working with couples presenting with:
I work with couples from diverse cultural backgrounds, intercultural and interfaith relationships, blended families, where family expectations, identity, religion and generational experiences can often shape the relationship dynamic in complex ways.
Relationship therapy offers a respectful and confidential space where all aspects of identity, culture, sexuality and relationship experience can be explored openly.
Please see my blog, The Journey Of Menopause and Relationships dedicated to supporting women and couples as they go through the menopause journey, relationships, and emotional wellness.
Alongside my wider psychotherapy practise, I also work closely with South Asian individuals and couples navigating cultural, relational and emotional difficulties.
As a South Asian therapist, I understand how culture, family expectations, identity, shame and intergenerational experiences can deeply shape emotional wellbeing and relationships.
Many of my clients tell me that it is a relief for them not having to explain every cultural nuance, expectation or family dynamic from the beginning.
