Never be afraid to tell your story in your own words
Do you need help with:
As your counsellor and therapist I do my best to make you feel safe and comfortable to speak about what has brought you to counselling.
Therapy helps you explore the historical, cultural, family, psychosocial and psychosexual factors that have led you to form certain patterns of behaviours and self views. It's about me evoking the resources and tools within you to help you to resolves the issues. This is about enabling you to be bale to continue to manage your life even after the therapy.
When a client tells me that they are anxious or depressed I don't claim to know what it means and that I know best. I work with you to unpack what this means to you. Together we explore how the current problem has been shaped by your unconscious mental life.
My counselling approach is influenced by:
“Trauma is the invisible force that shapes our lives. It shapes the way we live, the way we love and the way we make sense of the world. It is at the deepest root of our deepest wounds. Unaddressed trauma keeps perpetuating painful patterns in our lives.”
— Gabor Mate
I am also a certified couples counsellor and have experience of working with couples presenting with:
Coming from a South Asian background I have an insight and understanding of cultural, religious and traditional expectations and demands it can place on the individual and a couple.
My therapy experience also involves working with the South Asian heritage. Being a South Asian therapist, it makes it simpler for clients from the Asian background to speak to a therapist who has an insight into the culture and traditions.
